Im not much for blogging but I guess everyone has a blog now and its all the rage. So Ive stepped up, Im taking my pathetic looking "blog" and Im cleaning it up. Im going to write about shows, shows that I book, shows that I attend, shows that kicked my ass because it was so fucken good. Also it might make sense for me to write about bands. Bands that I book, bands that I listen to, bands that Ive seen live, and bands that I want to book. Right? YES!
So first things first. I have two GREAT bands from Philly coming up this weekend to play Great Scott 1/16/10 with two really awesome Boston bands that Ive just been introduced to. If youve known about these bands ever since they started out and Im so lame because I just found them, whatever, I found out about them didnt I?
The Boston bands:
Car on Mars- Mr Knackles is what grabbed my attention.Nice riffs. Great song.
Streight Angular- Oh man ! I love this "Are You Ever Satisfied" This song brings me back to a time when I was decked out in charm bracelets and begging my mom to let me dress like Cyndi Lauper. Its the synths, its got to be. If you like Talking Heads you'll like this band.
My boy Dave's band The Great Vibration and their buddies Conversations with Enemies are coming up from Philly to play for all you awesome people. Both bands are heavily involved with the Philly DIY scene and a few Invictus Bands (theWandas, Sidewalk Driver) have already had the pleasure to play awesome house shows thanks to Dave.
So lets get out of that house..its January I know all you fuckers are going stir crazy too, and get down to Great Scott this SATURDAY JANUARY 16TH!
